I switched to Net2Phone when Sunrocket went out of business. That was almost 2 years ago and I have been very happy with the service until we had a problem and needed customer service.
Our gizmo was ruined when our house was struck by lightning. They kept promising to send another one but days went by with nothing happening. After many calls I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told twice that the supervisor does not take calls.
That was enough for me. Now trying Vonage which has worked well for many friends.
Stay away from Net2Phone.

I have been a Net2phone customer for 9 years, started using their voiceline product in addition to their Net2phone 3 years ago.
Today I have cancelled both services and signed up with ITP.
Sole reason is that over the last 6 month their call quality has deteriorated severly to the point that 50 % of all calls are impossible to continue.
I have tried to work with their helpdesk for the past 6 month, and believe I have been very patient. Their customer service is as bad as their quality, they dont call back, refuse to transfer to a manager but worst of all, THEY DONT FIX THE PROBLEM.
I hope that the quality on ITP will be better. And let this be a warning for people considering Net2phone, expect your call quality to be way below average for a VOIP call.

I have had this company for years, but when they started charging me .29C for 800#s I was pist. I now only use them to fax things. They are crooks, no to ways about it. When I complained about them taking the money for the 800#s, I got no reply. The best bet is to complain to the BBB and the Attorney General of your state. Then they will have to give some kind of excuse for why they are doing what they do. Also, if the Attorney General gets enough complaints, they will investicate. If U would like to stop them and shut them down, everyone with issues against this company needs to complain to the Attorney General of your state. See if U can find out what state they are in and complain to them as well.

There was/is/will be zero customer service. I left about $14 in balance when I stopped using it for more than a year. A few months ago I checked, the balance was still there, but only about $8. SO I was thinking how I should use it up. So today on 39th of May 2009, I wanted to use it up but there was no money left. "Put money in" is the message.
Net2phone - a thief.

I have been using the service for several years to make international calls. Connection use to be good. For the past 2 months the connection is so bad bad I can not have a conversation for more than 3 minutes. Their customer service department not only is hard to reach but they sound as if they don't know what to do. Very disappointing. I'm looking for a different options

I just finished, canceling my service, what I'd consider the worst experice with any company in my life. After 2 months of good service and reliability the problems begun. First Net2Phone, for some weird reason, could not charge my credit card which caused them to suspend service. Right after I learned about the payment problem I called them and made a manual payment expecting I would get service right back. To my dismay 2 days later and no service yet I called and was informed that they had to re-verify my information and the account would be activated after that. Another 3 or 4 days went by and no service. So I called in again and this time was told that the account was active but for some reason I still could not call anywhere.
That's when the second part of the whole novel takes place. Technical Support tried all sorts of troubleshooting with no success, not to mention that it took me another week to demend a new router since that was the once part of the equation that had not being changed - we tried new phones, phone lines, etc. Finally they agreed to send me a new router - my hopes went up again. However this just started the third part of the novel - 4 weeks waiting and no router.
Yes, 4 weeks passed, as did several calls to their support line and nothing happened. During the first 3 weeks I would call every other day and they could never confirm that the router has been sent. They would just ask me to be patient that it was on the way.
At the end of the 3rd week I call in as usual and then they try to convince me that they did not ship the router because they were waiting for my equipment to be sent first. So 3 week of waiting and now they change the story, the good thing was that I had a couple of e-mails sent by tech support telling me that the router had been shipped and would arrive shortly. At this point I asked to speak with a supervisor who told me that would contact "corporate" to find out what was going on. Almost a full week has past and I call back. This time I'm told that the supervisor has not heard back from "corporate" and that they would contact me, that I did not need to be calling. The customer service rep also mentioned that since it has only been 4 weeks I should wait another 2 weeks since their regular shipping times were from 4 to 6 weeks. That's when I lost it.
At this point I asked her to cancel my account that all this was ridiculous and 4 weeks with no service was unacceptable. Specially because they were still charging me the monthly fees. All in all now I need to find another provider and I hope I never have to deal with them again and would recomend that everyone considering that company check your other options, they are not worth your hard earned money. It almost looks like a big telecom scam. Hope this helps other people to avoid such headaches.

I moved over to Net2Phone after SunRocket went under. I have loved them so far. The customer service was great when I called in for an installation question, and the calls have been crystal clear so far. If you are looking to switch or sign up for a new one then I recommend checking this one out.

I chose this company for telephone because I thought they could deliver a quality product. I was very disapointed with the quality. When I phoned tech support they kept me waiting on the phone for 40 mins before they answered. The issue was eventually resolved 2 weeks later. I tried to close my account. They said the account was closed but they continued to take money from my account months after. I have tried to claim the money back but they deny taking the money. This company is criminal.

I signed up for Net2Phone only to experience the worst service ever. I had the service up for just over 1 day before it went down for a week. The problem was something in their credit card processing system - even though I had already paid for the first month, when I tried to update my credit card that was on record with them, it locked up the account. After numerous calls to just about everyone in their customer service center I found out that there was absolutely nothing that could be done to expedite fixing the problem. They already had my first month's payment, but they wouldn't even turn on my voicemail for the account while they fixed their issue. Based on a working phone system the first day, I placed a classified ad that cost me over $400, and guess which # it referred people to - you got it - the one that stopped working the next day... So Net2Phone cost me over $400 due to a wasted classified ad. And it gets even better... I couldn't wait for them to fix the problem, so I changed my service to Vonage (whom I've had no issues at all with). When I returned Net2Phone's equipment and tried to get the "guaranteed refund within 30 days" they repeatedly refused. They did at one time say they would refund it, but then they turned around and refused again... Not a company that I want to be doing business with...
